TRAVEL / IEEE HEALTHCOM 2011

Accessing Columbia by Air

Columbia is located in Mid-Missouri, nearly equal distance from St. Louis and Kansas City.

Lambert-St. Louis International Airport is located approximately120 miles east of Columbia on Interstate 70. Many major airlines fly into St. Louis including, among others, Air Tran, American, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, United, and U.S. Airways. All major rental car companies are represented with rental counters located in the lower level of the Main Terminal.

Kansas City International Airport (KCI) is located approximately 140 miles west of Columbia, just northwest of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Many major airlines fly into KCI including, among others, Air Tran, American, Delta, Frontier, Midwest, Southwest, United, and U.S. Airways. All major rental car companies are represented and provide shuttle service from the terminal to the nearby rental car facility.

Columbia Regional Airport is located just 10 miles south of Columbia. Delta Airlines makes three daily flights Monday through Saturday and two flights daily on Sunday, to and from Memphis International Airport. From Memphis, Delta can connect attendees to more than 90 non-stop destinations. Most of the time, flying directly to Columbia is more economical than flying to St. Louis or Kansas City, when factoring in other travel expenses. Hertz and Enterprise have car rental services located in the main terminal.

Ground Transportation to Columbia

As indicated above, all nearby airports have easily accessible car rental counters.

Airport shuttle service to Columbia from St. Louis or Kansas City is available via Columbia-based Mo-X (https://www.moexpress.com/tac/default.aspx). Please call 877-669-4826 or email info@moexpress.com to make a reservation.

Mo-X makes 12 roundtrips daily between Lambert Airport and Columbia, and five roundtrips between KCI and Columbia each day. Mo-X can drop conference participants off at their respective hotels upon arrival and pick them up from a location of their choice when leaving town for their return trip home (round trip Mo-X tickets range from $80-$100, depending on pick up/drop off locations).

A complimentary shuttle will be provided for guests flying into and out of Columbia Regional Airport. Shuttles will depart CRA throughout the day on Sunday, June 12th, to deliver arriving participants to their respective Columbia hotels. Likewise, shuttles will depart Bond Life Sciences Center at the end of Wednesday’s session to assist those flying out of CRA Wednesday afternoon/evening. A detailed shuttle schedule will be available on the conference website prior to the start of the conference. Reliable taxi service is also available to/from Columbia Regional Airport for those needing transportation outside of these timeframes by calling A*1 Taxi at (573) 874-7110 or Tiger Taxi at (573) 474-3222.
